Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers has temporarily paused accepting new tips. It is currently seeking more information about the security of the P3 tip-management system and the measures implemented after a reported cybersecurity incident.

Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers has served the community for more than four decades, providing members of the public with an anonymous way to share information that can assist law enforcement in preventing and solving crime.

Earlier this year, Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers learned of a cybersecurity incident involving the P3/Navigate360 tip management platform operated by Navigate360. Information that was made available at the time by P3/Navigate360 indicated that measures had been taken to address and mitigate the incident. Recent developments and additional information have since raised further questions that require clarification.

Protecting the anonymity of individuals who provide information to Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers is fundamental to our program and to the trust our community has placed in us for more than four decades.

As a precautionary measure, the Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers Board of Directors has decided to pause accepting new tips temporarily. At the same time, we are seeking additional information and assessing the safeguards currently in place.

“Protecting the anonymity of our tipsters comes first. We have earned this community’s trust for more than 40 years, and we have a responsibility to ensure the systems supporting our platform meet our community’s standards. While we are not accepting new tips now, we are still actively working in the community to provide our public education programs and crime prevention tips. Our commitment to Brantford, County of Brant and Six Nations of the Grand River remains,” said Maureen Arabski, Chair of Brant-Brantford Crime Stoppers.

Members of the public who wish to report a crime or provide information can contact Brantford Police Services at 519-756-7050, Six Nations Police at (519) 445-2811, or Brant OPP at 1 888 310-1122. Please note the information provided directly to police does not carry the anonymity protections of the Crime Stoppers Program.
